Shea Harper is forced to stay in boring, hot and dry Phoenix, Arizona for college. But once she meets the enigmatic yet positively egocentric Lucian, Shea’s life changes forever.

She finds out that she comes from a long line of descendants called Vessels. In her soul is the key to destroying an ancient prison protecting the world from darkness itself: Lucian’s father.

Up until now, Lucian has captured every descendant except Shea. With her powers awakening, all vampires want to drag her down to the pit. But Lucian is territorial. She’s the first female Vessel… and he’s convinced she belongs to him.

Saucy and tauntingly surprising, Black Moon captures the struggle between burning alive with desire and castrating the heart. This is a love story that will drain you dry.

My Thougts

Shea just arrived to collage. She is sick of Arizona, but for some reason, she just can’t go out from them, so she goes to a local school. But her simple life turns up side down, when she is attacked by a stranger with vampire complex on a party, and she finds herself trough a world where vampire comes from Egypt itself, kill without compassion and an ancient beast with the mission to keep save her kind.

So, I like the plot. All the trick and twist the author present fix very well into the story. The world they build together is very good with all the myth and thing from the past; I also like how they fix history with their book time line. We can see where is writing each author, their voice is very different at each chapter and, when Shea voice is lightly and very much modern, Lucian is dark, dangerous and very much ancients.

The story drag me, it was difficult to put it down. Every situation was so involving and the action was very much captivating since the beginning.

I like Shea; I think she was my favorite character from the book. She stands her points and was funny and lightly. I was so on her side through the entire story. I also like Aidan; he was enchanting, no matter what he had done in the past or what he did to her, I like him the most, and if I have to choose a Team, it would be his. About Lucian, well, although he was fine, he did gain me. I couldn’t find something likable, I felt like I was so drowning into his over powering personality and could breath.

I think that the only that dislike me from this book is Lucian. I mean, he could had thinking a little bit less about him; it was all about him, he liked her, his “sons”, his “father”, his old friend, his feels, he ravage, his rages, him, him, him. At some point, I was so over of it. Like, I don’t want to know anymore about it.

I felt that the romance was a little bit too much to Twilight. You know, the bad vampire and the beast, but also the fact that, for me, is rush. Like, they don’t spend too much time together but instantly, she knows she love him; not quite enough for me. Although, I like that despite has some similarities, it could also be different and got it own magic.

Overall, I think this an amazing read, full of actions and captivating story.

I give it 4 hearts

F.M. Sherrill

Aren't author's bios boring? I always wanted to read one that went something like this:
F.M. Sherrill: recent citizen of earth. Plans on ruling the planet once she gets over the common cold. Or, F.M. Sherrill: time traveler. Decided to alter the space-time continuum by writing a novel, thus changing history slightly, which will eventually lead to the rise of a new human species.

But here it is. F.M. Sherrill is a novelist, A.K.A. an avid bullshitter; that's why she lives in L.A.. She's been writing for as long as her ancient mind can remember, devouring tales like an anemic vampire roaming the streets in hot pink heels, always thirsty for more. When she's not writing, she's making steampunk weapons, sewing giant plant-eater Mario plushes, making costumes for some film bloke or cosplayer, and sculpting/casting movie prop replicas while gardening in her urban apartment. Her favorite tools? A soldering iron, a blowtorch, a band saw, a sonic screwdriver, a replicator and an active imagination.
